Welcome to the first Expedition Ozark 2024 Race Update! We’re looking forward to welcoming you all in April and to showing you the beautiful wilderness, waterways, and nature of Northwest Arkansas in the second edition of Expedition Ozark. We recommend booking flights early and there are extensive connections to Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA), which is only 8 miles/5km from the race HQ. International competitors must have an ESTA (or valid visa) for their stay in the USA. Your entry fee includes two nights’ accommodation per team ahead of the race on April 6/7th and one or two nights after the finish (depending on the finish time). Pre-race and after-the-race accommodations are the same. Each team will be assigned one double room per team (sleeps up to four) at the official race HQ and hotel:

Teams that wish to arrive in Northwest Arkansas early can consider booking room(s) at the host hotel at the additional cost of the team by visiting HOTEL WEBSITE HERE and selecting the Bentonville, Arkansas location. Non-race items and personal belongings will be securely stored during the competition and made available upon finishing at the host hotel. Complementary airport transfers from the Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) are ONLY available to athletes on Saturday before the race (April 6th) and Sunday after the race. Transfers for departure are on Sunday, April 14th and details will be confirmed in later updates. Weather:
This has been our most reached-out question thus far. I wish we had better answers for you, but April in the Ozarks is a plan for anything type of month. Last week we had icy conditions with below-freezing highs and just yesterday I was paddling (maybe a portion of the race!) in sunny conditions and temps high enough to break a good sweat. Forecasts are generally pretty reliable around here around the 7-10 days out, so plan on hearing a ton of specifics from us as we get closer and closer to the start day, but for now, plan for the worst of chilly days and cold nights with rainy conditions.
